No obligationAbout 30 minutesEnglish or 日本語

A man and a woman sitting side by side, going through something on a laptop

Sound familiar?

Ever caught yourself thinking…

“Something’s off, and I can’t tell what.”

Fewer bookings, quiet inquiries, a site that feels a bit tired. You’d like someone to just take a look.

“I keep meaning to update the website. It’s been years.”

The hours are wrong, it’s hard to read on a phone, and nobody’s sure who has the login.

“Another evening copying orders into a spreadsheet.”

Plus answering the same questions, and chasing messages across phone, email and LINE.

“Tourists keep asking if we have an English menu.”

No English menu, no way to book online, and directions that only make sense in Japanese.

“I know I should be using AI. I just don’t know where to start.”

Everyone says it will save you time. You don’t have the time to find out how.

Our honest take on AI

How it works

Check-up, diagnosis, treatment.

We look at your website and the way you work, then tell you what to fix first.

About 30 minutes on a video call · Written summary · English or 日本語

  1. Check-up

Send us your business name or a link. Before we talk, we go through everything under “What we look at”.

  2. Diagnosis

On a video call, we go through what we found and what to fix first. You get it in writing too.

  3. Treatment

If you want our help, we quote the fixes, and nothing starts until you say yes. If not, the advice is yours to keep.

What’s working

  • Customers love you on Google. Reviews are good and recent. Keep asking happy regulars to leave one.
  • Your Instagram is active. Good photos, posted most weeks. Keep it up.

Fix first

  1. Google Maps shows old hours. It says you close at 22:00, but you’re open until 23:30. Late customers may think you’re closed. You can do this: a few minutes, and we’ll show you how.
  2. Bookings only by phone. Calls come in during service, when nobody can answer. We can help: online booking from Google Maps and your site.
  3. Nothing in English. Visitors message on Instagram to ask for the menu and whether you take cards. We can help: an English menu and booking page.

Worth doing later

  • Your domain is in your old web designer’s name. Move it into yours, so you can’t lose your web address.
  • The menu is a PDF. It’s hard to read on a phone. A menu page is easier, and Google can read it.
  • You answer the same Instagram questions every night. Last order, groups, whether you take cards. An AI assistant could draft the replies from your own information, and you check each one before it’s sent.
Next step: want help with 2 and 3? We’ll send a written quote. No obligation.

Sample. 炭火酒場 とも is a made-up business.

AI, in plain words

Feel like you should be using AI?

  • “Everyone says I should be using AI. When would I even learn it?”
  • “MCP, RAG, n8n… is any of this for a business like mine?”
  • “I don’t want to fall behind. But I don’t want to pay for something we’ll never use.”

Fair questions. Here’s what we’ll tell you:

Questions

Common questions

Is the check-up really free?

Yes. It’s how we find out whether we can help. There’s no charge and no obligation: if you’d like our help afterwards, we send a quote and you decide.

I’m not technical. Is that a problem?

Not at all. We explain everything in plain words. Tell us what bothers you in your own words and we’ll take it from there.

Do I need to prepare anything?

No. A link to your website, Instagram or Google Maps listing is enough, plus anything that’s been bothering you. No website yet? That’s fine too.

Do you need my passwords?

No. For the check-up we only look at what anyone can see. If something needs a closer look, we ask first.

How much do the fixes cost?

It depends on what your business needs, so we quote each job after the check-up. Quotes are in writing and show prices excluding consumption tax, with the tax listed separately.

Do I have to use AI?

No. We only suggest it where it clearly saves you time or effort. If it isn’t worth it for your business yet, we’ll tell you.

Who owns the website and domain?

You do. The domain and accounts are registered in your name.

Who are you?

Tobico is a Tokyo-based product and engineering team with experience building digital products used by millions of customers. The name (トビコ) comes from 飛ぶ (tobu), “to fly”, and co, for company, collaboration and growing together.
